    SQL Join (Access 97)

    Hi

    Bad hair day!

I have two tables (one to many relationship). What I want is a query to display records in the one table that are not in the many table. I hope I have explained this clearly. Any help appreciated.

    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,
If I understand you correctly, you want a query with the two tables joined to show all records from the one table and corresponding records from the many table. Then add the linked field from the many table to the query with a criterion of Is Null. That way you will only get records from the one table that have no corresponding record in the many table.
    Does that help?

Rory has already solved your problem.

Access has a built-in wizard to create such queries. When you create a new query, select the Find Unmatched Query Wizard. I will ask which tables you want and which field to compare them on, then construct the query.
