Full text in Reply (Eudora 5.2)

When I create a reply to a message I always get the full text of the original. I have checked the Reply option "Quote only the selected text" on Tools/Options, but, even with nothing selected the reply quotes all the text. Any clues?

I am using Eudora 5.2.1 and that option seems to work for me. Just to check it I just sent myself an emai, then highlighted part of it and replyed to myself. Convoluted I know, but it worked. Only the highlighted portion was included in the reply. In fact it said, "You wrote... and then the selected part of the message was quoted. Is this what you are asking about?

Yes it is. And the selection works when I select one or two lines. My problem is, when I select nothing, I get the whole document. I want nothing, i.e., a blank reply. The best I can do is select one line, click Reply, and then delete the one line that I don't want.
