Dialog boxes not gettting focus (Word 2000/SP3)

When Word opens a dialog box (e.g., after I hit Ctrl-F (find) in an open document), the focus does not change to the dialog box. Instead, the document's icon on my task bar starts to blink. I have to click on that icon to bring up the dialog box. I don't think this is a Word problem because it doesn't happen at work, where I also use Word, but use it with Win2000. At home, where it happens, I'm using Windows XP, SR-1. Any ideas? Not that I don't see this problem with dialog boxes with any other program, however.

Search for threads involving TweakUI and "steal focus." (If the post is by me, it is saying the same thing this one does. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15> )

Thanks, but doing that search I find that most of the hits turn out to be those messages from you suggesting to do that search. The few threads I found that are substantive seem to be discussions about how people are unable to find a solution. (I have TweakUI installed and already had tried changing that focus setting. Interestingly, even when I uncheck the box that says "prevent apps from stealing focus," the radio buttons below it do not get grayed out (as they should), and one always remains checked.) Anyhow, in suggesting the search, did you have a specific thread in mind that you thinkk contains a solution? I also searched just on "steal focus" with out "TweakUI," and "tweakui" and "focus" (w/o "steal") and didn't see anything specifically pointing to a solution. I must be missing something. Thx.

I thought someone had posted a solution in one of those threads, but maybe I'm misremembering. Also, it might not have been on the Word board.
