It is now safe to power down system

I would like Windows 2000 to power down on shut down. I changed the registry key and it still won't power down.
    Any suggestions?

Have you found a way to accomplish this? My PC used to power down but doesn't anymore. If you found a solution would you mind sharing it?

I haven't. A friend of mine told me about a fix in the registry but it didn't work for me. Sorry. If you find something, please let me know.

Have a look at these few tips from JSI:

    Hi All,

Even with all of Leif's tips and Registry mods, it wouldn't work on my PC until I had ensured that the 'Enable Advanced Power Management support' check box was ticked in the APM tab of the Power Options aplet in Control Panel! Duh...

    HTH,

Couple of other things to check -
    1. Make sure you have an updated BIOS
    2. Make sure that ACPI is enabled in the BIOS - Making this change will then probably require a Win2k reinstall so the correct HAL is loaded.
