Multiple Identities (OE6)

I am puzzled about Identities in Outlook Express. I use this as my default e-mail programme and have set up another Identity for my wife. I only have one e-mail address.
How do I separate her e-mail from mine?

As John stated, your best bet would be for each of you to have your own e-mail address. Another option, although I think not a very good one, is to check the 'Leave a copy of messages on server' box on the 'Advanced' tab of the account 'Properties' and one of the other sub-options, but then you would both download all the mail each time.

By getting another email address from your mail provider for your wife, and linking that with the second (her) identity.

Alternatively, the recommended way is to have two users on your (presumably XP?) machine, each with a single Outlook Express identity - but you'll still need an individual email address for her, otherwise there's no way that I know of of splitting your mail.

Think of it like "ordinary" mail which comes through your letter box - if letters intended for you and and those intended for your wife BOTH have

written on the envelopes, how can you determine who they are REALLY for without opening them?

This is probably not what you want to do, but if your ISP does not allow for an additional email address to be added to your account for your wife (which is certainly the obvious way to go) you could always set up an address for her in hotmail, then as the boys have already stated, in XP set up an identity for her, then using OE within her identity, download her mail from the hotmail address directly into OE, that would keep both sets of email quite separate.. (Make sense)?
