Access loses import spec on convert 2000 to 97 (2000/97)

When converting a database from Access 2000 to Access 97 (yes, we have a few pockets entrenched in 97), all of our import specifications disappear. Am I missing something? Is there a fix for this?

    Thanks!

IMHO this is correct. You have to recreate them.

    Francois,

Thanks for the quick reply - that's what I was afraid of.

That's always been my experience, and it works both ways, converting to an earlier or a later version seems to drop the IMEX specs.

A minor point (which won't help in this case) - if you import all objects from an Access 97 database into a 2000 database, and if you expand the Options then you can select Import/Export Specs (as well as some other things).

True, Wendell, but then you have to deal with the references needing to be reset whenyou import the objects instead of converting. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>
