    Ghastly Grid (2002)

Lately I have been plagued by a background grid appearing as per the attachment. Sometimes it is just horizontal lines, sometimes just vertical.
If I start a new document, all is clear, but adding a table or picture will sometimes trigger the effect and most documents received as attachments in emails seem to suffer from this. The grid does not show in print preview, and sometimes disappears at certain zoom levels. There appears no link between the scaling of the grid and font size. Video drivers check out as being the latest available.

    Any ideas? <img src=/S/grovel.gif border=0 alt=grovel width=31 height=23>

    Leif,

This looks like the drawing grid, I am on a Word 2000 system at the moment, so I'm not quire sure where you turn it on and off. For me it is on the Drawing Toolbar, Draw > Grid...

    <img src=/S/drop.gif border=0 alt=drop width=23 height=23> <img src=/S/stupidme.gif border=0 alt=stupidme width=30 height=30> <img src=/S/thankyou.gif border=0 alt=thankyou width=40 height=15>

(By my calculation, that's equivalent to 3,000 words of thanks!)
