Installing Office97 on a WinXP Professional machin (Office 97)

I am buying a new computer with WinXP Professional as the operating system. We use Office97 in our company. Are there any problems in running Office97 on a WinXP machine?

Office 97 will work fine on Windows XP. Make sure you have the latest updates for Office 97, and for Jet 3.5 if you want to use Access.

You need to have sufficient rights in the Registry to be able to run macros. This won't be a problem if this is your own PC. In a network, the standard rights are sometimes too restrictive.

A potential issue in the install process, when newer components are on the system than the installer expects, see this thread.
