possible hot keys/toggle (Excel 2000)

HELP!! I have a problem that just happened and I'm not sure how it happened. When I'm in Excel and I hit the decimal on the 10 key pad, it acts like the End key. Does anyone know how it happened and how I can change it back?
Thanks for any input

Have you quit and restarted Excel? If that doesn't help, have you restarted the computer?

I believe, you have deactivated the "Bloq Num" Key.

Hi Servando,

It's called the Num Lock key in English. On my keyboard, the decimal key (the point .) acts as Del (Delete) key when Num Lock is off, not as End.

We've done both a few times and it doesn't seem to clear it.

Hi Hans

but if you have deactivated the Num Lock key and type in empty cell:

[.=Del] (this does have, no effect) +
[1=End] this key works the blocks +
[Enter] sent to you at the end of the block.

Saludos

The numbers are working fine. It's only the period that is screwed up.

Shut down and swap keyboards with someone, then see if the problem persists. (Don't merely restart the machine, completely shut it down and then reboot it.) On some older OS/keyboard combos I've seen goofy Alt/Ctrl/Shift/End and other weird states get stuck, but they always clear on a shut down and cold restart.

Is it screwed up when you use say, Word?
Or is it only in Excel?
With any workbook?
