    scroll cascading

'whenever I scroll down or up in all applications - IE,OE, Documents, etc. - the scrolling motion seems to cascade or rewrite the whole page. It just started doing this. It never did this before. It used to be smooth and now it is jumpy. My computer is a Compaq Presario laptop with touch pad, using Windows 956. I have checked all my settings everywhere I could think of, including touch pad settings, and I cannot find any settings to correct the problem. I also made sure that "Use smooth scrolling" was checked under Internet Options|Advanced. Can anyone tell me how to fix this to make the scrolling smooth again.

Could be a video driver that isn't behaving properly. Try reducing your color depth, the resolution, or the refresh rate and see if it persists. And it can never hurt to re-install the video driver either.

    Hi Mark,
Wow! You solved my problem right away. I had changed the color resolution recently, but didn't realize that it would change the scolling. Thanks a lot.

Glad that it worked! Maybe you can use this as an excuse to get a newer video card.... <img src=/S/wink.gif border=0 alt=wink width=15 height=15>
