    My clock has stopped working

When I turn my computer on, my clock works fine. When I turn it off, it stops telling the time, so that when I turn it on again, I have to reset it. My suspicion is that it is the battery in my computer. But I was wondering if there were a few other things I could check before looking at my hardware.

Is it losing or gaining time that requires you to reset it? - or is resetting to Jan 1st 00:00hrs every time?
If the latter, I would suggest it most likely to be a battery problem.

It's losing time, so I guess it is probably a battery problem.

I had that problem with a brand new computer & it was the CMOS battery. Fortunately, it was easy & cheap to replace. (The company had them on back order, so I ended up buying my own.) <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Thanks for the reply. Just another in my long "to-do" list.
