    Square dots with headings (XP SR1)

    When I view a Word document with paragraph marks unhidden, some of the headings have little square black dots in the column left of the text.
    What exactly to these dots indicate? I think i already posted this question once and forgot the answer.

    The squares reprent that Styles are being utlized for that heading.
