Styles won't stay put

I have created a custom template with new style names so they are not confused with anything that might already be on a person's machine. However, two of the styles keep changing margins. Both are bulleted and both have unique bullets (from symbols). Please help!

I'm working in Word 2000 now, but this has also happened to me in Word 97.

Check your tabs in the style... make sure they are completely cleared... and you have all the indents and such spaced correctly. I've run into the same thing and it's a pain in the butt...
have fun

Unfortunately until they fix the numbering problems in Word this will be a nuisance.

Take a look at this article for a description of "why" this is happening:

Thanks for your help. Even if it can't be fixed, now that I know that, I can work around it by editing the last version before printing and then converting it to a PDF. I thought it was something I was doing wrong.
