Making UDF functions generally available (2000)

How can I make my VBA User-Defined Functions available to all workbooks? I understood that I could save them in a workbook and store this workbook in the xlstart folder, but this gives me the NAME error when I try to use the functions on a worksheet?? Andy.

Best is to save the workbook containing the UDF as an add-in and activating the addin in tools, add-ins. Works for me.
