    Send to (any folder)

In Win95 there was a utility called "send to" that you could right click on any file and "send to" any other folder on your machine (or on the network). I think it was part of Power Tools. I can not get it to work on WinME. Anyone got a solution ?

If it's anything like W2K, navigate to the SendTo folder (I think its hidden) in your Documents and Settings profile.
Right_mouse and select New | Folder.

Nope. Somehow it is not there. The sendto folder is only one i created but not the same as the older version where you could sendto "anywhere" on your drives or network.
I hope someone comes up with the answer.
    Thanks.

    Re: Send to (any folder)

Lief, Close, but no cigar. I would have to create many, many folders to Send To. How the "old" thing operated was...right click on a file, menu opens, click Send To, menu opens...pick "Any Folder", then opens your whole hard drive in an explorer setting. I thought it came from MS, but maybe not. I use it at work everyday (win 95). Just wish I could find out how to incorporate it into ME.

OK - I think the light has just dawned.

Have a look at JSI. This explains how to do it for W2K, and might apply. As ever, backup and Caveat Emptor etc. etc.

    Re: Send to (any folder)

Lief, I found it. Looking at Dave's board (http://www.mindspring.com/~davleib/sendtox.html)was the answer. The name of the program is Sendtox.exe
It is only 23kb in size but works like a million bytes. I was lost without it....but now I am "found".
    Thanks for all your help.

    Re: Send to (any folder)

Just had that problem....mine became unoperable for some reason. (Win ME) Go to Start/Run type in SENDTO and then remove the current link and simply drag in a new link. Worked just fine for me.
