    Chart Tool Tips (97 SR-2)

I want to manipulate the text displayed in the tool tip when you hover the mouse over data points in a Chart. I wish to create a long string of text for each data point of a scatter plot and do not want to permanently pollute the chart by using the data label.

Does anyone know if this is possible and if it is which objects, properties and methods do I need to tinker with?

The ToolTip is not exposed in the object model. I have done some searching, but I haven't found anything about custom tooltips. So I fear it is not possible. If I happen to run into something, I will post it.

    I confirm, it is not there. We've put it on the wish-list for Excel 39 <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>.
