    Module (2000)

I use the following module in my 97 databases and now I am trying to use it in my 2000 databases:

    Public Function OpenOtherDatabase(strName As String)
    Application.FollowHyperlink strName
    End Function

As an option on my switchboard I use run code
and for the function argument, I put: OpenOtherDatabase("hmpg1015dept0199adminLindaCreat e Datasource.rtf")

I get an error - There was an error executing the command. Any ideas why it isn't working in my 2000 database. Thanks for your help......

I have no idea why it's failing but I am confused by the name of your function, since it appears you are passing in the path and filename for an rtf document, not a database. What exactly is this supposed to do, open the document? It seems to me there was a thread recently on hyperlinks, so maybe one of those who was involved in it will jump in with some information

Open the module behind the Switchboard form. In the HandleButtonClick function, search for the line Application.Run rst![Argument]. Replace Application.Run by Eval.

Note: I get the error in both Access 97 and Access 2002.
