    TweakUI98

I've installed Tweakui98 as suggested in post #250603 by cowboydawg. It works great. I am able to pass my network password without making the end user sign on. My question is, Is there a set of key strokes or some way that I can disable this automatic signon, in case I need to do maintenance on the PC? This question has probably been answered, I'm sorta lost without my search button on this site!

This is one way to do it if you don't mind using Regedit.
You can modify the registry to disable the AutoAdminLogon in Winlogon so that Windows 98 will not automatically log the user onto the workstation without any credentials. In regedit, go to the following key:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentV ersionWinlogonAutoAdminLogon.

Set the string value entry to 0 to disable automatic logon.
Remeber what the String Value was, were you can change it back when your done.

Holding down the SHIFT key should bypass automatic logon. In Windows 98, it will also prevent startup items from loading if pressed while the splash screen is visible. If you're in a network logon scenario, I believe you can let go of the shift key after the logon dialog appears and normal startup items will still load.

Mark. He is already bypassing Automatic Logon with Tweekui and is wanting to Disable the feature with a key stroke or something. I think that is what he's saying. I may be wrong so forgive me if I spoke out of turn.

No way to know until we hear back - I read that as auto-logon was enabled via TweakUI, and now it needs to be bypassed temporarily. <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>
