Tickler Software Add In (Office XP sp2)

I am looking for some kind of very SIMPLE Tickler that can stay on top of the desktop in a small window and it is easy for me to add people to call and things to do and also be able to clean it up easily. Simple is better. Any new or old favorites. Taskbar on outlook gets too cluttered and is too small. I don't want to buy a whole contact management software as I like outlook a lot and do not want to change. Here is a sample screen off an expensive medical package that seems nice and clean. ? a Coder out there that can do something similar???

I'm not sure what you mean by "Taskbar in Outlook". If you use tasks in Outlook, you can view the list of them in Outlook Today, and you can customize Outlook Today to display the way you want it.

My apologies "taskpad" not taskbar. I use this to remind me of general things like when licenses are due to be renewed etc. Still too small and too cumbersome.
Need small program just oriented to "tasks" ticklers etc that I can use for medical practice only.

    Jerome--

You could configure the Outlook Calendar to do what you want and have Outlook open to the calendar view you configured and color code different tasks, meetings in and out of the office, renewal deadlines, special procedures, ect. this way and change the calendar look. I pulled these links from this Office Healthcare Page. Given the looks you can impose on Outlook's calendar, I would think it could easily provide the tickler you want and you can make Outlook's calendar as basic or elaborate as you like with a wide range of features or not as Charlotte says. Using Outlook Today and and Scheduling/Outlook Calendar and customize days in the Outlook calendar may help.

You also may find something over at Slipstick in a calendar search. ( For whatever reason, the link wouldn't take you directly to the search result, so put "calendar" in the search box, and it will list the links I wanted to show you.)

    SMBP:
Many thanks, I looked at all the sites you mentioned. However, I need something that fleshes out Taskpad and makes it more robust and maybe stand a lone. Rest of outlook is fine. It is the Taskpad that I need to pop up only and be able to organize and delete and have it occupy 1/2 the screen etc.

I will keep looking and focus in on the taskpad. Also I'm not promoting cross-posting, but in this case you might paint the most precise picture you can on the Outlook section of the lounge and see what people suggest. Good luck.

Re: Tickler Software Add In (Office XP sp2)

The TaskPad in calendar can get a bit crowded and cumbersome, unless you run OL in full-screen mode. btw I assume you know that the borders above and on the left of TaskPad can be dragged to resize the Appointments. Date Navigator and TaskPad panes? If you didn't, then resizing and SMBP's links may be enough (although they mostly refer to TaskPad, many techniques can be used with other views too).

If you need more, it still seems like OL may suffice, with some tailoring to your specific needs. That way you would avoid learning a new product, even a simple one, let alone trying to integrate it with OL.

For a separate, customised "Tickler TaskPad" right-click Tasks, and select "Open in New Window". You can size and customise your new "Tickler" window to suit. Under View | Current View | Define Views… you can select (& create the fields (columns) to display, whether you want your ticklers grouped, the sort order, filtering (to exclude other tasks), several appearance options, and automatic formatting (eg to colour ticklers according to category).

You will probably want to use categories to make the most of this approach. If you're unfamiliar with them check out the OL help - it's surprisingly comprehensive once you start digging. If you get really keen, you could even look at creating a custom form to enter your Ticklers.
