    TweakUI & IE55

    Starting from "ground zero", if I:

    1) Install Windows 98SE
    2) Install IE55
    3) Install TwekUI 1.33;

    in TweakUI I end up under the "Desktop" tab, with "Internet Explorer", "Internet", and "The Internet".

    Although it doesn't SEEM to be a problem, MS past history tells me that if it ain't right, it's gonna bite you ... down the road.

    And since I (and no doubt everyone else) runs into IExplorer issues fairly regularly, quirks like this "make me nervous".

    Any idea what causes this and if it is (possible (beneficial) to fix?

    I tried looking into name space characteristics etc., but ti seems that some of this is "hard-wired"...

    Would be interested in finding out...

    Re: TweakUI & IE55

    Hi Chuck:
    I don't think you'll get bitten. I have 2 entries that say Internet Explorer on TweakUI & I used to have one that said "Delete". That's because I didn't know how to get rid of the IE desktop shortcut at the time & I tried to name it delete. I wish I hadn't lost it so I could now look in the registry to see where it came from, but it's too late. I do recall that every time I tried to rename the shortcut, I put another entry in Tweak UI, but it never caused any harm.
    Cheers,

    Phil:

    I guess I just don't trust my 'tinkering' enough to let things set...

    Oh well... thanks.
