    reset default settings (xp)

Wish to reset default settings for Excel. Despite having settings to show default, hidden and system files, search does not locate either book.xlt or sheet.xlt. looking in template folders also unsuccessful. Is the name incorrect or what am I doing wrong? This hgas worked for past versions and is Microsoft's guidance in the help menu for xp.

If you have NO Book.xlt or sheet.xlt, excel is set to the default template. The info is stored internally in excel. If you create one of these templates and put in xlstart then XL will use your "creations" instead of its default settings.

Why do you want to do this, are you experiencing trouble?
