    msconfig

I just discovered that WIN 2000 PRO does not have the MSCONFIG feature. How do I stop programs from starting up without MSCONFIG???

You can use the MSCONFIG from Win98 (with some errors) and XP, but I prefer Starter, which I found at AnswersThatWork.com. It's an excellent utility for startup and process management. Note, however, that it doesn't control services - but I personally don't like using MSCONFIG for that anyway.

You can Download MSCONFIG for Win2000 Here Its the same one used in WimXP. WinXP was built off of Win2000 Technology. I use it on one of my Win2000 machines.
