    Startup locations (WordXP)

Is it possible to have multiple file startup locations for Word macros? Or, do all the macros have to be placed in the directory specified in Tools/Options/File Locations/Startup?

The Startup folder is the only one whose files will be loaded automatically when you start Word (plus Normal.dot). AutoOpen and Document_Open macros will be executed automatically; other macros in the files in the Startup folder will not be executed automatically, but they are available whenever Word is open.
Any template and document can contain macros. Macros in a template are available when a document based on a template is open, and macros in a document are available when that document is open.

If you want to physically locate a template somewhere else but want Word to open it at startup, you can place a shortcut to the template in the Startup folder. (This worked with Word 2000 on Windows 98, so I figure it probably still works in Word 2002).
