    Disable Options Button (2002)

Is there any way that you can disable any or all of the buttons that appear in a worksheet while you are working. (i.e. autocorrect options button, paste options button, auto fill options button, error checking options button, insert options button)

    Thanks for the help,
    Steve

Are you talking about the buttons on the toolbars that are under the menu bar? If so, you can remove the toolbars by clicking on Toolbars on the View menu and then unchecking any of the tool bars your don't want to see. If you want to remove certain buttons from a toolbar, then right click on a blank space in the toolbar area and select Customize from the pop up menu. With the Customize dialog box displayed, you should be able to right click on any of the buttons on the toolbars and delete them.

Actually Legare, they are the buttons that pop up automatically in the worksheet when you perform specific actions. For example when you autofill a date the autofill option button pops up next to the last cell you filled and when you click on it expands with autofill options. The problem is the button stays there until you do something else. So if you fill and then want to look at the worksheet you have a button on a cell that may actually have data in it that is now blocked from view.

Oh, that must be a XP feature. Since I will never voluntarily install a product that included the Registration/Activation wizard, I can't help with that.

    Goto ToolsOptions, select:

the Edit tab and deselect the Show Paste and Insert buttons and for AutoComplete
the Error Checking tab and deselect the error checking or modify the error checking rules
