Insert Comments (Office 97-Win, Office Mac X)

Is there a method of changing the "default" Format for comments?
I don't like the default settings for comments in either the Windows or the Mac version, and changing the format for each instance gets frustrating.

Comments are tooltips.

You change the default TOOLTIP format in windows - control panel - display - appearance tab

BEWARE: this changes it for ALL TOOLTIPS in ALL programs displaying tooltips.

You could write a macro that changes the formats on all comments if desired or those in a particular range.

Hi,

If you need a sample for setting your own format with comments, here is a macro I have used:

Sub NewComment()
' Insert Comments without the User Name from Excel
On Error Resume Next
strComment = InputBox("Enter your comment: ", "Add Comment")
strCommentHdr = "Comment Header"
strCommentHdr.Bold = True
ActiveCell.AddComment
ActiveCell.Comment.Visible = False
ActiveCell.Comment.Text Text:=strCommentHdr & vbCrLf & strComment
End Sub

Good Luck
