Questionaire filled out (MS Word Xp)

Not sure how to word this.

I have a document that is used as a questionaire. How can I set it up so a User can call it up... Fill out the questions and mail the document/form to a Shift Supervisor. When i want to get out of the word document I don't want it to save any changes i made to it. So when the next person calls it up.. it is blank.

Wel, if you don't save changes, how are the answers going to reach the supervisor? But if you mean that you don't want to mess up the original, perhaps a template is the ticket. It depends on the situation: if your users are on a network, save your document as a template (.dot) and make that available on the network. when the user creates a new document based on the template, the template stays unchanged. If your users are not on a network, you'll have to provide each of them with a blank questionnaire, or with the template plus instructions on installing it.

One of the options for Word forms, I believe, is to save only the form data. I've never used this option, but you could look it up in the online help and see if it would work for you.

You also could write a macro to intercept the Save function and compose an e-mail message containing the contents of the document. In light of Outlook security settings, though, this might be less than smooth for the users.

Word has always been able to Save form data rather than the whole form

<P ID="edit" class=small>(Edited by HansV on 31-May-03 15:03. Ignore this reply - it is nonsense. Sorry.)</P>Word has an option to print only form data, not to save only form data, AFAIK. It is possible to simulate saving only form data by installling the "generic / text" printer set to print to a file, and selecting the "print form data only" option. But since this option is meant to print the data on top of a pre-printed form, the result as a text file is not very useful.
