Out Of Scan Range (XP Home)

<img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20> Lately I've been occasionally getting an error message, "OUT OF SCAN RANGE" and the machine locks up. How come?

Have you noticed if this behavior occurs with any specific activity - playing a game, starting a program, etc? In addition to Cowboy's statements, you might also ensure that you have the appropriate monitor driver installed, and the system is not using the default Plug and Play Monitor.
