    turnoff a switchboard (2000)

    Hello,

Since the search function is temporarily down and I need a quicker answer....I have been asked to look at a database across our network. The database when opened comes to a switchboard and I cannot get around the switchboard to see the tables and other objects. I know I should know this but how do I turn off the switchboard.

    Thanks, joe

    Hi Joe,
Nice to have another Coloradoan on the Lounge. There may be a couple of issues involved here. The first is the StartUp options that open the switchboard - that's how it's commonly done anyhow. If you hold down the SHIFT key when you start it, that may do the trick - but that can also be restricted if the developer chose to block it. The potentially more complex issue is User Security. If it is active then you may literally not be able to get into the database container window. Are you getting a Password prompt when you open it?

    Thanks Wendell,

I have been a long lurking Coloradoan, so it nice to see others here abouts.

The use of the Shift key did the trick for me. One last thing, how do I get all the tables to show.

    Thanks, joe

If the option has not been turned off in the startup options then F11 should bring up the database window.

    Thanks,

This did not quite do what I was after. I did then find it when looking under Options and then clicked show hidden objects.

    Take care, joe
