Hi Dave:
And to go one step further with Stuart's answer, if you select the entire document & change Tools/Language/Set Language/Uncheck "Do not check spelling or grammer", it should clear that setting in the entire document. At least in Word 2000, no proofing is the default for text form fields. If you only want to remove it for selected text scattered throughout the document, you can use Find/Replace to find text with "no proofing" & replace it with "proofing".
Cheers,
I have several large Word documents that are flagged with the message "Skipped text with "Do not check or grammar". How do I clear this flag, so spell checker will fond ALL those mis-spelled words? I can see all kinds of spelling errors.

My error, this machine is running Word 2002, and is where I am having the problem. I edited my subject up above.
And YES, that did it.
Thanks.
