    Millisecond pings (XPPSP1)

This may sound silly but when you ping and the measurements are displayed for example, is 265ms or 273ms faster?

Another way of asking, in milliseconds, is the higher the number a faster rate or slower?

I get confused sometimes as various micro- and mini- measurements are sometimes inversely proportional to the value of the number.

Ping measures duration, so the bigger the number, the longer it took, whatever the units. (And it did sound silly <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>, but if you don't ask...)

    I think the "ms" is short for microsoft, which means that the time units are those of eternity... <img src=/S/sarcasm.gif border=0 alt=sarcasm width=15 height=15> <img src=/S/catty.gif border=0 alt=catty width=19 height=18>

In the list of SI prefixes I did not found "mini". Probably it is commercial prefix with various meanings from "not so big" to "not soooo big".
