organizing favorites

could/would anyone have any other way of organizing Favorites other than going in and out (and in and out and in and out...) of the Organize Favorites screen? our favorites have gotten way out of hand, and i need to clean them up, at least mine, and i shudder at the thought of having to go through that process multiple times . i know that, if there's a better way to do things, someone here must know how to do it, therefore i ask for your . all y'all haven't let me down yet! so much for your help. have a fabulous day!!!

This comes up often on the Internet Explorer board. Maybe I should move this thread over there?

    Re: organizing favorites

My preferred method is to use Windows Explorer. Favorites in 2000 and XP are stored, by default, in Cocuments and Settings{username}Favorites. You can enter that into Start - Run and it will open an Explorer window right there. From there, you can manage the entire list more easily, by dragging and dropping. I find it even easier to do some serious cleaning by opening two Explorer windows and navigating to Favorites, then tiling them vertically by right clicking on the taskbar.

I'm sure there are programs to do this, but I wouldn't use them. the idea of using a program to perform a single maintenance task like this seems rather pointless. If it seems daunting because you've never done this before, remember that It's better to learn how to use the computer than to have another program to confuse you.

Edited by WyllyWylly to add URL code. See the Quick Guide.[/i]

    Hi,

Given I could not find this on the Internet Explorer board, I will suggest here that you might like to checkout the following site:

    http://www.favoriteshomepage.com/

    Good Luck
