    Digital audio setting greyed out

The option to enable digital audio playback is greyed out for both my CDROM and CDRW, even though I know they both support it, as does my soundcard (a creative audigy 2). I found an MSKB article detailing a registry hack for windows 98, but that registry key doesn't exist in 2000, and i've searched the registry for "digitalaudio" and "DAE" but found nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Re: Digital audio setting greyed out

Having asked RealOne player to use digital audio for CD playback, it reported that the driver for my CDRW did not support this. RealOne proceeded (after asking nicely first) to download an updated driver and all has been well since. If you have RealOne, you could try this route or install RealOne, but that seems a bit circuitous. Other options would include checking the manufacturers website for a driver update or trying Microsoft
