    Convert from 97 to 2000 (2000)

    When trying to convert a 97 database to 2000, I got an error. Please see attachment. The database compacted and it seems ok but I wondered if someone knew the reason for the error. Thanks for your help.

    This shouldn't really be a problem. Switch to the Visual Basic Editor, and select Debug | Compile <projectname>, then switch back to Access and compact the database.

    If you want to prevent the error from occurring, perform the equivalent in Access 97 before converting: open the database, open any module and select Debug | Compile and Save All Modules. then compact the database.

    Re: Convert from 97 to 2000 (2000)

    I did what you said to the 97 database but got the error "Type Mismatch" on the code below when I debug and Compile and Save all Modules.

    Private Sub GroupNames_DblClick(Cancel As Integer)
    Me.RecordsetClone.FindFirst "[RecID] = " & Me
    Me.Bookmark = Me.RecordsetClone.Bookmark
    End Sub

    It highlights Me - I am not good at VB and seeing the obvious. How can I fix the above code?

    Something has got lost - the line Me.RecordsetClone.FindFirst "[RecID] = " & Me is not complete. Without seeing the context, it is impossible to be sure what it should have been, but try changing it to

    Me.RecordsetClone.FindFirst "[RecID] = " & Me.GroupNames
