    opening a public folder (2000)

Hi, not too sure if this should be here or in the IE forum, maybe a moderator can put me right please.... <img src=/S/please.gif border=0 alt=please width=31 height=23>

on our intranet we have links that open a persons inbox ( an html link that uses outlook:inbox does this). does anyone know if there is a way of referring to a public folder? i would like to offer something like outlookublic folders, staff locations so that people browsing our intranet can easily get to the public folder detailing staff whereabouts.

    thanks

How about this? In your folder view, scroll down to the public folder. Right drag it to the Outlook bar. You'll be prompted to add the folder to the bar. Once it's there a click of the icon will open the folder.

    Hi,
Using the web toolbar in outlook seems to indicate a syntax something like:
    <pre></pre>

    should work.

Re: opening a public folder (2000)

When i use that sort of string i get a nice fat error message saying ...
"Unable to display the selected folder or item. Could not complete the operation. One or more parameter values are not valid."

    any more ideas ?

    Hi,

I have also received this error message, when the folder address is not 100% correct (including capital letters).

Here is a real-live link from our Intranet. Note the substitution for blanks:
