    Site for Mac help (2000)

This (Woody's) is a great site...at least one person always comes up with a helpful answer.

Now I have to deal with my aging mother's Macintosh (no ribbing, please). Can anyone recommend an equally helpful site for Mac users?

    A Google search on Mac forums yields a plethora of possibilities....but I can't recommend one over another. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Is that your aging Mother's Mac, or your Mother's aging Mac? <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>

Much of what you find here for Office applies equally to the Mac and PC versions of the MS software. There are some differences (different versions of VB, for example) but most are cosmetic.

IMHO the best forum for General Mac (or Apple) issues is Apple's own.. Not as well moderated as this forum but technically very very good. The only criticism I have seen is that their Mods will quickly delete any posts that they perceive to be 'anti-apple', but it is their forum. You should be able to find hardware answers for most machines, back to the last few 68x machines or the first PPC boxes. Apple and Mac software is covered back to (at least system 7).

    And they are lacking a Scuttlebutt board <img src=/S/exclamation.gif border=0 alt=exclamation width=15 height=15>

I've always had good luck with MacFixItForums. Accelerate Your Mac forums have particular emphasis on performance tweaking, and Low End Macevangelizes for keeping older Macs in use

This is Other OS's board and I have a history with Macs, so post you're question and I'll do my best to answer it.
