    Macros always run???? (Word 2000/SR1)

Attached is simple Word template that will run macros even when you select the disable macros option. This happens because I first created the template not as a template but as a Word doc and then simply changed the extenesion to dot. I discovered this because a co-worker developed a lot of Word templates by first creating as doc and then changing the extension to dot and sure enough the disable marcos option does not work. Is there some setting we can change on these templates to repair them without having to completely redo them?

Rename them back. You can use them through File > New... without them actually being templates. If you want to be able to double-click them from Windows Explorer, it's a bit more work, use Save
