Eliminating an extra space (Urgent) (Access 2000)

When I import, a field called "GetMod" imports all modules,,,ok so far, but then it imports "Module # 18" and "Module # 18" from an excel sheet.
Notice the double space?. This ruins my calculations, because they are both recognised as different items when they should be the same, how do I eliminate that double space during the importation process. When its being appended to the table via the append query.
How do I do a simple vba to kill off that extra space. Please Please this is really urgent.

"Trim" works on blank spaces at the beginning and at the end of the field. Is importing "Module #" necessary? If the Naming Convention is basically "Module # xx", can you not name the module according to a Right( ) procedure which stops when it reaches " ". You can then prepend "Module # ". Not the most elegant of solutions, but HTH
