    IE6 / Certificates / Content Advisor / LOCKED OUT (6.0.2)

    1) What a GREAT forum
    2) But "No Search" means I can't check to see if my problem is already solved - Sorry if this is a repeat...

Security issues hit my brain...I react...I tweak settings...I run SpyBot (just the main Search & Destroy panel)...I think I deleted Certificates for names I did not recognize (moral - don't give a chainsaw to a blind man)...

Now I frequently get Security Alerts - The security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust (The certificate is valid and has a valid name matching...) AND Security Alerts - Info you exchange cannot...however there is a problem with...security certificate

EXAMPLE - GoDaddy.com / log onto my account / I have to click YES about 10 times before I see the LOGIN screen

Under Internet Options / Content / Certificates / Other People - the 2 GoDaddy URL's are shown
Under Internet Options / Content / Publishers there is no option to add a publisher (GoDaddy is not on the list)
Under Internet Options / Content / Enable AND Settings I am LOCKED OUT! (The supervisor password is required before you can continue" Hint: "hobbes")

I do not recall setting any password (maybe Hobbes, my dog, set one) - I have tried every password I could imagine (I use a pretty small core of PW's) - my PC is in my house and I don't use passwords on anything internal.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi Doug
<hr>The supervisor password is required before you can continue" Hint: "hobbes"<hr>
The password will be something relative to your dog. Such as: "my dog", "My Dog", "MyD0g", "theDog", "d0g", "hobbes", "pet", "a nickname for your dog", etc.

There was a link here to Microsoft's instructions for overriding the content advisor, if that's the problem. Obviously I don't know what that post was, but maybe some searches at Microsoft would turn it up? (Or searches at Google targeting site: microsoft.com with relevant keywords.)
