When I try to open an e mail attachment in Outlook Express 5.0, there is one short line of garbage. Any suggestions how to correct??

    Thank you.

Is your system protected by a firewall? If not, try saving the attachment to your hard disk (which you should do anyway, then running your virus scanner over it) and open it according to the file extension.

    Re: Attachments

Attachments are usually a word document and it opens with Word 7.0. Funny, I can forward the messages to my computer at home and the attachments open fine. The settings on both computers appear to be the same. Thank you.

    Re: Attachments

Try saving them and then open in Wordpad. If that works then you have a problem with your Word installation.

You aren't receiving Word 97/2000 docs. You may have the converter set on the second machine but not the first.
