    Password Prompt (XP)

Every time I check for new mail, Oultook prompts me for a password (the same on each time!) even though I've selected many times for it to remember it. What's going on? How can I stop Outlook from doing this?
    Thanks

Do you use an older version of Windows (e.g., 98 or ME)? When you start Windows, do you log in? Sometimes Office applications won't save passwords if you don't log in.

If you log in, a second possibiltiy is that your account is corrupted. Although it takes some work to carefully re-create your account (Tools>Accounts...), keep that in mind as a possible last resort.

    That's a good lead, I found a similar article for Outlook 2002:

Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 290684 - OL2002: The Save Password Setting Is Not Saved When You Connect to a POP3 Server

Interesting, the instructions are for Windows 98, Windows NT, and Windows 2000; no updates for ME or XP. Hmmm...

What system are you using. I would still give them a try if the keys are the same.

I run Windows XP Pro, but I'm not the one having the problem. You'll have to ask the original poster if the MS articles helped.
