    Cursor Doesn't Update

Admittedly, this MIGHT be normal, and I have just never noticed it before, but I don't think...

I had reason to re-install my Win98SE this week... and all seemed to go fine. But now, when I select some action that may take a moment to process (emptying the Recycle Bin, for example), the Hourglass/cursor stays the same, instead of reverting to the arrow after completion. If I then move the cursor even slightly, it reverts back to "normal".

I am running IE 5.5, and Intellipoint 4.21, both of which I have been using for some time without the above symptom ocurring.

Any idea what is causing this?

    I'm bewildered...

    Sounds like a driver problem.

    Cowboy:

Aftr about six hours of fiddling around, I finally tripped across the culprit: custom cursors. Not really too custom, just painted red so that they are easier to see...

But when I select the "Working in Background" red cursor, it does pause... if I go back to the standard white, all is well...

What causes this? particularly now, since I've used these cursors for years, literally...

Just something has become corrupted in that program for that curser. See if you can find an upgrade to that program or a better curser program. There are lots of them out there. Or if you still have that program uninstall and reinstall.

    Cowboy:

I had been using an "unpacked" version of the IntelliPoint (MS) software...

So I uninstalled, went back to the original installation, and it *appears* that it now is correct... after a full re-install of Win98 too, of course...

    We'll see...

    Thanks for your help...
