    Hyperlinks (2000/SR1)

When having a meeting where several different PowerPoint slide shows will be presented, I am creating a slide with the Agenda on it, and then making the description of each item a hyperlink to that presentation. Once the presentation is completed, it comes back to the Agenda slide and it's ready to start the next presentation. It works very well but I always want more.

Is there a way so that instead of clicking on the hyperlink, (we are running it on a laptop, with a touch pad and everybody has problems zeroing in on their link and getting the presentation started and I don't want to sit there like the AV guy and do it for them) that we could assign a shortcut key, I'm thinking of just using numbers, since each item is numbered. That way each person could just hit the number for their presentation and then it would start.

If anybody knows of a way to do that, I would appreciate it. Thansk.

I think you can use a shape as a hyperlink, right? Could you place a huge transparent, hyperlinked shape over each person's area that they couldn't miss if they tried? Not as convenient as a number, arguably, but then, the way most people hunt and peck... <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

    Hello
I don't think you can do exactly what you want - at least, I can't find out how to.
However, you can drive it using keystrokes in this way.
Start the slide show and display the agenda slide.
Right click anywhere on the agenda slide - this brings up the context slide-show menu.
Use the keystrokes Shift+G - this opens the 'Go' menu.
Press Enter - this opens the 'Slide Navigator' menu. This lists all the slides in the show, with the first one highlighted.
Now use the down arrow key to scroll down the list until the first slide title of the target sub-presentation is highlighted.
Press Enter and the show will open the sub-presentation.

Each sub-presentation should finish with its last slide having an action key (either mouse click or mouse over depending on choice) which returns to the agenda slide.

Don, you won't be able to assign keystrokes to the links.

But you can operate links and action buttons from the keyboard. While in the show, press TAB until a marquee highlights the link you want. Each TAB moves to the next item. Then press ENTER.

Another way is to note the slide number each speaker begins with. Type that number and then press ENTER.
