Sure is free! Son of Spy has been one of the great freeware advocates/ collectors/ scroungers for many years. He goes to great lengths to maintain his site, containing 1800+ applications. He endeavours to keep it free of ad/spyware, no trialware, shareware, time-limited demos etc. He also dives on the last available free version of apps that go commercial. A holy grail of freeware sites IMHO.

When you linked me to this page in my other post I couldn't download CDCheck since the link was dead, as Pilgrim noted... Still I managed to download other 8 'I Use It' rated freebies. Good Morning...
Hey, nice site, I d/l'd a bunch of good stuff.....

BUT..... Got a little cocky, ( I knew better too) and went to the screen saver section. Saw one that look nice and clicked on it to read more info. Quicker that you can say, "Jack-be-naked" it took me to a porn site. The only way I could be out of it was to shut down.....

So........ watch out. (Dang, I knew better too....)

Looks like that site could use a little updating.

Re your hijacked link experience, I usually check the url by hovering the mouse pointer over the link. If I'm the least suspicious, I'll do a web search on the url or use one or more of the features of SpamCSI to get info on the web site.
