Change contact format (Outlook 2002 SP2)

is there a way to change the default phone# format from (123) 456-7890 to 123.456.7890?

Not that I am aware of.

It is the case, however, that <UL><LI>if you fill in the phone number in your own desired format, and<LI>do NOT click the confirm box when Outlook amends the number to the default format<LI>Outlook respects whatever format you have actually entered[/list]HTH

I don't get a confirm box when I enter a number in a different format. Outlook just changes it to the default.

I've gotten used to the formating, in fact I have decided I like. However, I also have never seen a "confirm box".

    I have used OL97, OL98, OL2k and currently OL2002 SP-2 and don't recall this feature in any of them. (Don't ask about the changes, I get a <img src=/S/headthrob.gif border=0 alt=headthrob width=15 height=15> just remembering it!) <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

Apologies. I am so used to filling in the Country/Region code - as a European.

As a US user, you may probably never find the need to fill in the Country/Region code. If you do, Outlook generally pops a Check Phone Number box - unless you've disabled the option. I now see that the Check Phone Number box is dependent on Country/Region code being entered. You may not wish to go to the trouble of triggering it.
