    Flat Screen Monitor

I am shopping for six flat screen monitors for the office here. Currently I am looking at Sony 7 Dell. Is there anything special I should look for and is there a manufacturer that any of you would recommend or totally stay away from?

    Re: Flat Screen Monitor

I am sold on Sony. Have been using there products for years and thier monitors have never given me a lick of trouble. I can't find a Sony 7 Dell Monitor. You are looking for Flat Screen and not Flat Panel right?

    Re: Flat Screen Monitor

Sony is good........but I opted for the Samsung SyncMaster 900NF (19"). I've had 2 of them for over a year and a half and have had no problems.
Note: these are Flat Screen, not Flat Panel.

    Have a Great day!!!

Okay, Dell has a Viewsonic 17" LCD Plat Panel monitor on sale for 374.95. Any comments regarding these? How about Compaq?

    Re: Flat Panel Monitor

I read several articles on the net and got mixed reviews on Viewsonic. Some said Envision was a better bang for the buck. I personally don't know. From what I read if your like to play games LCD is not real good { there again I don't know because I don't own LCD} but yours is for office use and they say LCD is real easy on the eyes.
    Good Luck.

    Re: Flat Panel Monitor

I take it from this post that you are looking at LCD screens.

I recently went through a similar process and invited the local suppliers to "show what you recommend", within a price range. I had our Front Office Manager (looks are important) the Financial Controller (MONEY!!!!) and the Exec Sec (she stares at a screen all day).

We settled on the Benq FP581s. The seal was the Financial Controller looking at the screen and say this is it...Oh, what was the price? (If she looked at price second, that was good enough for me!)

I don't remember now what exactly we looked at but Compaq, NEC and a rebadged "Ipex" which I think was an LG.

    Hope this helps.

Samsung SyncMaster. They are not cheap but they are the best of the 5 (different brands and models within brands) or so I have tried out.
I chose the 152T for my home and the 192N for business.

    Re: Flat Panel Monitor

Delap. We could go on for days with this and everybody is going to tell you what worked best for them , or what Monitor they think is the best, and the truth is, they are all right. I very seldom see anybody complaining about thier Monitors, and thats because most of them work just fine, for a long time. To be honest with you it's all going to be up to your office and what they want to spend for those six Monitors. I mean if you go into a Computer store and start looking at Monitors lined up down the
the wall, all of them are turned on most the time, you can go crazy trying to figure out which one has the best picture. Then about the time you think you figured out which one has the best picture you look down and see the Price and OUCH. You start over. Now your looking at prices and picture quality. Drive ya smooth crazy. Good Luck. You could always use the Iny,Meni,Mini, Moe thing.
