    Change Shortname in Win Explorer

If anyone would be interested, I have a batch file that fixes the annoying short name problem in Windows Explorer. If you're not sure what that is, In NT 4.0, when you make a new folder and name is RAYSTER, Explorer automatically changes it to Rayster. This is very bad when you go between Widows and UNIX/Sun/Linux machines which are character specific. You never really know what you typed in in the first place. Well this batch file works great. I distributed it on the Arizona Internet Professionals Association.org with great success. If you want it, get back to me.
    Thanks
    Rayster

Re: Change Shortname in Win Explorer

I'm for posting it anyway. I turn off that annoying option in NT systems because I want what I type to stay exactly the way I typed it, and I abhor when software tries to guess incorrectly (or in this case, just pretties it up). A batch file would be a nice workaround. Does it require administrative privileges to operate?
