    Dual Boot Problem - 2000/XP

Being a trainier, I need to keep several versions on my system. So, having bought a new laptop, I created 3 partitions and installed Windows 2000 in C: Then installed Windows XP in D: Everything Ok.

Installed Office 97 & Office 2000 in C: - still Ok. Went through installing 2000 drivers (as per the laptop manual) in C: - no problems. Did the same for XP in D: - now I can't log in to W 2000. At the login window, I can't enter the password, as it is not taking input from the keyboard (mouse is Ok). The error message is :

SystemRootSystem32DriversTSISTRM.SYS device driver could not be loaded. Error status was 0xc0000034

    (Note, no % signs)

I can login in XP, and the above file is in the System32... folder on the C: drive. I have been able to Install Office XP in D:

Other than starting again from sctratch (which I could - no data saved yet) does anyone have any suggestions for a possible solution?

    Thanks in advance,

    Tony.
    Regards,

    Tony

Have you tried booting into safe mode? This might give us a bit more information.

Read This Error message: Unable to Load Device Driver: SystemRootSystem32DriversTSISTRM.SYS
    and this one here

These two have to do with a problem with Laplink. So if you have Laplink maybe these will help. If not sorry. I will keep looking.

    Thanks guys for your replies.

I haven't installed Laplink yet (I am intending to) but since the problem started after installing drivers, the advise in the links you sent may do the trick. I will let you know when I get the chance to try them.

As an update; I tried the suggestions in the KB article, but without success. So, over the weekend I took the 're-install everything' route and all seems okay. I am now dubious about installing lap-link.

Take a look at Radmin Remote Control. I think you'd like it.
