    pps to exectable? (any)

Hello all. Weird being on this side of the post.

Will a .pps file work if you DO NOT have powerpoint on the machine. If not, is there a way to make it executable?? (.exe)

    Thanx

There is a PowerPont Viewer for PowerPoint 97 that also works with PowerPoint 2000 and 2002 files (there are some limitations; it does not support all PowerPoint 2000/2002 features). It came on the Office 97 and 2000 CD's (but was not part of a default installation), and it can be downloaded from PowerPoint Viewer 97 for PowerPoint 97, 2000, and 2002 Users
File | Pack and Go... can package the presentation together with the viewer and all necessary fonts into a file that can be installed on PC's without PowerPoint installed.

And its useful to test running your presentation using the viewer first. You may find some of your animations don't function when using the viewer. Best to know that first!

Note that if you use Pack and Go, you'll need both of the files that pack and go creates, and your recipient will have to unpack the file.

If you're distributing on CD, there are autorun instructions on my site. (URL's in signature, and you'll want the Autorun CD pages.)
