    alinging bulleted text (2000)

I have a basic question: If I choose a new slide layout that includes a bulleted text box, the text is all lined up under each other, next to the bullets. If, however, I draw a text box and click the icon to make it a bulleted list, the text is aligned under the bullets instead of under the text. I've tried lots of things to fix this, but I can't figure it out. I usually end up either putting each item on one line in my hand drawn text box, or I go and make a new slide, choosing one with a bulleted text box. But it's driving me crazy.

    Thanks for your insight,
    Maureen

Select View | Ruler. You can set margins and indents just as you can in Word (but changes will apply to the text box as a whole, not to individual paragraphs)

And just as an addendum to HansV's post, you can get more control over those indent markers if you hold down the CTRL button while you drag them.
