    hyperlinks between docs (word97 sr2b)

I'm creating word documents & would like links between the docs.
eg in doc1 reference1, would be linked to doc 2 item 2. then i would like doc 2 item 2 to be linked to go back to the orginial location in doc 1 ie doc 1 reference1.
I'm currently using hyperlinks. however as i'm going to have many links in my docs, hyperlinks seems a bit fiddly to setup.
is there an easier way to setup links between the 2 docs with the same reference points/links?

    much appreciated

    Hi Diana,

If you hyperlink to bookmarks in your reference documents, you could create the hyperlink field once, then copy and paste it to wherever you want. Then you need only change the bookmark references (and tooltips if you use them) in your hyperlink fields. You'd do this by making the field codes visible (eg Tools|Options|View and check the 'field codes' box) and serching for the bookmark/tooltip to be replaced.

Alternatively, if your reference document has a Table of Contents, you could hyperlink to that alone and use just the one hyperlink field throughout.

    Cheers
